KiwiCo vs Lovevery vs Little Passports: which is worth it, by age
Short answer by age: under 5, Lovevery and KiwiCo’s Panda/Koala lines overlap. Ages 6–12, Lovevery drops out, KiwiCo is the broad STEM/art option, and Little Passports is the geography pick. All three are screen-free supplements, not core curriculum and not a substitute for your state requirements.
| Brand | Ages covered | Focus / screen-free type | Cadence | Price (checked Oct 18, 2026) | Approx. monthly equiv. | Best homeschool use | Skip it if… |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| KiwiCo (kiwico.com) | 0–36 months through 12+ across lines (Panda 0–36mo; Koala 3–6; science/art/geography lines 6–9, 6–12 and older) | STEM, art & geography hands-on crates — physical, screen-free projects | Most lines monthly; Panda every 2 months | Most lines from $24/month; Panda $42 per crate | From $24/mo; Panda about $21/mo | Science/art supplement between subjects; hands-on break that still feels like school | You need a full curriculum, or a monthly crate will sit unopened |
| Lovevery (lovevery.com) | 0–5 only | Developmental play kits — physical, screen-free play | 0–12mo: every 2 months; ages 1–5: every 3 months | $132 per Play Kit (ages 1–5) | About $44/mo (ages 1–5) | Morning-basket / play-based supplement for the youngest learners | Your child is over 5, or you want school-age STEM/geography |

Prices fetched from official brand pages on October 18, 2026 (America/New_York) and date-stamped here. Prepay terms change per-crate prices — re-check the exact line and term on the brand’s site before ordering. Little Passports’ term price is marked verify-at-order for that reason.
Pick by age, not by brand
Kindergarten and younger: if your child is under 5, Lovevery’s 0–5 kits and KiwiCo Panda/Koala are the overlap zone — choose developmental play (Lovevery) versus early maker/science crates (KiwiCo). Pair either with the free resets on our screen-break activities page before paying for anything.
3rd grade (about 8–9): Lovevery no longer fits. KiwiCo’s 6–9/6–12 lines are the broad hands-on supplement; Little Passports Science Junior / World Adventures (5–8 / 6–10) is the geography-first alternative.
6th grade (about 11–12): only KiwiCo’s older-kid science/engineering and art/design lines and Little Passports’ oldest lines (8+) still reach this age. At this level a kit is enrichment for a specific interest, not a daily driver.
Homeschool fit — and who each is not for
Use any of these as a supplement: a science or art project on a light day, a geography add-on, or a screen-free break with a purpose. Do not count a subscription box as covering a state subject requirement on its own. Run our 2-minute quiz for your costed core stack and state checklist first, then decide if a supplement earns its monthly cost. If money is tight, start free: the 20 screen-free break activities cost nothing and use supplies at home.
Parent involvement, honestly
Younger lines (Panda, Koala, Lovevery, Early Explorers) assume an adult playing alongside. School-age KiwiCo and Little Passports lines are designed for more independent work with adult set-up and clean-up. We have not timed these ourselves — treat that as the brands’ positioning, checked October 18, 2026, not our test result.
Questions
Have you hands-on tested KiwiCo, Lovevery or Little Passports?
No. We have not hands-on tested these products. This is a sourced comparison of ages, cadence and prices fetched from the brands’ official pages on October 18, 2026. Prices and lines change — verify the current price and terms on the brand’s site before ordering.
Is KiwiCo (or the others) a homeschool curriculum?
No. Treat all three as a screen-free supplement or enrichment — hands-on projects alongside your core subjects. A kit does not by itself cover a state subject requirement; check your state checklist on CurricPick (general information, not legal advice).
Which is best, overall?
There is no overall winner — that is why this page is organised by age. Lovevery only covers ages 0–5, KiwiCo spans the widest range (0–36 months through 12+ across its lines), and Little Passports is the geography/culture specialist from age 3+. Match the age first, then the focus.
Do you earn money if I buy through this page?
Not from these three brands yet. No affiliate links for KiwiCo, Lovevery or Little Passports are live on this page, and official-site names below are plain, non-affiliate mentions. If that changes, our Disclosure page will be updated first and links will be marked sponsored. Arbor links elsewhere on CurricPick are affiliate links — see Disclosure.
What does each cost, in one line?
Prices checked October 18, 2026: most KiwiCo lines start at $24/month (Panda Crate $42 per crate, every 2 months); Lovevery Play Kits ages 1–5 are $132 per kit every 3 months (about $44/month); Little Passports showed about $25/month equivalent on a 12-month term ($32 monthly) — verify that term price at publish/order time, as it is term-dependent.
